Going back a few years a life assurance company inexplicably put about £4k into my account! - I was expecting a modest sum, but nothing like that much. Why should I have to look after the money? Whats more annoying is the only solution I can see to cancel this account and re-open another but why should I have to go to all that trouble? I know its not mine in the first place but its annoying to see an inflated balance that isn't mine.ī & B have just simply said that if it is wrong, which it definitely is as I have given no one these bank details to pay into the account, then it'll be claimed back eventually. I just have this fear that it'll go on for years and one day the cash will just be ripped from my account. I know its not much but it is building up, I can't spend it as it is not mine and I think the person paying it in in error needs to know about it. I have no clue where the money is coming from, just a name, and the bank don't seem to want to help me. I have a Bradford and Bingley account (which is now Abbey) and since July £20 is being paid into it every month. I know that a lot of people wouldn't see this as a problem but I want it sorted. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask about this but I'm not sure where else to put it.
